Marian is patron of To Russia with Love, a charity helping Russian orphans specifically in the Bryansk region.

She visited Ethiopia with Concern, an international humanitarian organisation dedicated to reducing suffering and ending extreme poverty.

She gave royalties from Under the Duvet to the Simon Community, who work with people who experience homelessness and housing exclusion in Ireland.

And royalties from Saved by Cake were given to the Society of St Vincent de Paul, who work for social justice and give practical support to those experiencing poverty in Ireland.
